Camping a Swedish tradition
Most Swedes are brought up with a camping experience from their childhood. The memories are of sunny days outside the tent or a caravan. A modest and often jammed life style. Back to nature, but crowded.
Glamping is quite the difference. It is you and your family or friends in an exclusive setting offered by nature
Glamping site in South Sweden -Explore Småland
GoNatuerTrip visited the Explore Småland to get an insight in a Swedish version of Glamping. At their land they have chosen to offer Glamping with full board
Chatrine the owner told us more:
” Our land is the historical landscape of Glasriket or the Kingdom of Crystal. We have a long history of offering guests accommodation and our aim is to offer sustainable countryside accommodation and products . We are working closely with the lakeside resort Ödevata Fiskecamp, just a hike away with great outdoors and possibility for a day on the lakes.
A typical glamping experience is for 2 days and Chatrine explains more in depth the experience
“We will meet you at the parking and help you to the tent, a secluded place in the forest, with striking views of the forest, meadows and lakes. At the same time not far away from the farm and the barns. Shortly after check-in, a picnic basket with homemade goodies awaits outside the tent. Later, when the sun goes down, dinner is also served at the tent, obviously with a focus on local produce and from my kitchen. If you want, you can of course choose to eat in their beautiful barn or on the outdoor terrace instead.”
Chatrine has her own take on Swedish traditional food a legacy from her mother and her love for her kitchen garden, her knowledge of the forest, herbs and edible plants and their passion for sustainability
Chatrine shows us the tents
“Sleeping is done in these tents. They are simple, but with everything you need. We have focused on comfortable beds, food and the natural experience of waking up, after a nice night’s sleep, to a lovely breakfast basket with fresh bread, eggs, yoghurt, tea / coffee, etc.”
