This summer I wanted to explore Koster island with friends. There are moments and trips that are more magic than others.
There is nothing like a get-together with girl friends from way back. You know the kind of friends that have known you for years . This is why, when you meet the conversation and the moments you share create fulfillment and wellbeing.
I go to Kosterhavet National Park , namely the South Koster island, every year. A dear friend of mine has a summer house there which has been in her family for many years and the first time I went I was 18 years old. So, it is a big part of my life. It is just a magic scenery and landscape.
The Koster national park and the islands
The best way to discover the islands and the archipelago is by boat and on your bike. There are boat safari trips you can book if you do not have a boat of your own. The bikes you can rent on Koster islands as there are plenty of bike rental companies. 
To find the most beautiful places to visit check with a local or if you rent a summer house on Koster the owners will for sure share their hidden gems with you. There are beaches but if you want to sun bath with total privacy, perhaps skinny dip as you jump into the water, there are several places to choose from
The magic of the outer archipelago
Sweden is one of the countries with the most islands in the world. There are big and inhabited islands as well as small islets and skerries. When you explore the archipelago within and around the Kosterhavet National Park you get a full glimpse of the beauty and wonders how the landscape has been formed for billions of years ago. Learn about the Swedish life on the islands
On my last trip with some girlfriends we went to the island Ursholmen. Here you can find lighthouses and a small museum explaining life for the lighthouse custodians. For more information on the history of the lighthouses download the pdf in the link.
The national park and its beauty of nature
The Marine life is all over. There is a very interesting learning centre the Naturum visitors center is a great place to learn more about the unique marine life in Kosterhavet.
One of my favorites is the big oak tree that is close to my friend’s house. Every year it is getting bigger and bigger.
