Geographical Midpoint of Sweden
Enjoy a Swedish Fika with a view of the Geographical Midpoint of Sweden!
By Lake Munkby in Ånge, close to the village Munkbysjön, you will find the landmark “Flataklocken”.
In 1947 a team from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology declared the 465m high mountain, Flataklocken, as the exact geographical centre of Sweden.
As a result, you can enjoy a stunning view of The Ljungandalen (Ljungan valley) from the mountain.
Close to the exact midpoint, you can enjoy a fika and a light lunch in a summer café open between June 27th and September 4th, between 11 am and 5 pm.
No overnight parking but there is an outdoor grill. Obviously an interesting stop on your northbound trip.
